About Us

Our 'ohana (family) is a diverse group of people who enjoy the team sport of racing Hawaiian outrigger canoes. We work hard together in the canoes and enjoy ourselves afterward during social gatherings and potlucks.

Everyone can participate in this sport. Different age and experience categories allow young, old, new and seasoned paddlers to compete.

Keiki (Children)

Ages 8-12, compete only in the sprint races and there is always an adult in the boat with them. We teach them water safety and how to work as a team.

'Opio (Youth)

Teens from 13-19 compete in sprint and distance races.

Wahine (Women)

Women 20 and older may compete in the following categories for sprints and distance races: Novice, Freshman, Open, Masters (35+), Senior Masters (45+), and Golden Masters (55+).

Kane (Men)

Men 20 and older may complete in the following categories for sprints and distance races: Novice, Freshman, Open, Masters (40+), Senior Master (50+), Golden Master (60+).
